Ongoing Project
'The Influence Project’ co-created with curator Lorayne Crawford is a photographic music project celebrating pioneering Black musicians and their impact on contemporary sound. It shows musical connections raising awareness to where it began and some of the characters involved in changing the shape of music. The Project also illustrates connections to contemporary artists so that younger generations can appreciate the significance of these relationships.

In Development
“Sensi" is an exploration of some of the taboos and fantasies that are associated with the black male sexuality and masculinity in Western culture. Since the dawn of western civilisation sexuality has been linked to fantasies of domination. Black Africans entered this new world where sadomasochistic rituals of dominance, power and play were already embedded in the fabric of sexuality. Domination became synonymous with black masculinity and permeated society's perception of it, being reinforced from one generation to the next. This notion of black masculinity has become imbedded in the Western idea of it and has come to influence how black males themselves see their own sexuality and how they express it.
“Still i Rise” is a celebration of Black Women; their power, beauty, resilience and achievements. The project will showcase portraits of women who have helped paved the way and broken boundaries. The Black Panther movement, Afrocentrism and Black Feminism will be recurring themes throughout the project.
DON’t PUSH ME CAUSE I’M CLOSE TO THE EDGE
I’m fascinated with the human condition and with what motivates us. How we are connected to each other through life, death, and through our emotional journeys. The images in this project express moments from my own personal experience of the universal story we all seem to be telling together.
